Franklin Pierce Freezes Tuition for 2010-2011

franklinpierceAmid a string of tuition increases that are popping up across the nation, Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire has made the bold decision to freeze it’s tuition rate for the coming academic year.

The current rate for tuition is $27,700 and that will continue through 2010-2011. In addition, the University has agreed to award scholarships and grants ranging from a minimum of $7500 to a maximum of $17,000 to every admitted undergraduate student for the coming year.

Kenneth Ferreira, director of student financial services, says the goal is to ensure that a quality and distinctive private education remains within all students’ reach.

In my experience, very few institutions of higher education can make the move to freeze tuition and fees from one year to the next. So, I would like to acknowledge Franklin Pierce for their effort to control costs for their students.
